14 guided modules from the home row to an accurate 30 W.P.M. for the ten-minute English typing test. Finish the path, then take a full High Court Clerk C.P.T. mock.
The official qualifying speed is 30 W.P.M., using (words typed − mistakes) ÷ 10. Build accuracy here, then check your speed under the complete exam timer.
Take a 10-minute typing testHow modules unlock: the Home row is open to start. Clear every lesson in a module — by hitting your accuracy target on each — and the next module unlocks automatically. You choose the target (80, 90, 95 or 100%; default 90%) on the lesson screen. For offline accuracy practice, use the free judicial typing passages and judicial word drills. Begin each lesson slowly enough to use the assigned finger and return it to the home row. Repeat a short exercise until errors become rare, then increase your speed. After the modules, take a ten-minute mock to see how accuracy and pace hold up under the full timer. Your course progress and mock result measure different things: the lessons build technique, while the mock checks exam-length performance.
Three habits that make touch-typing stick. Two minutes now saves weeks later.
Feet flat, back supported. Float your wrists — don’t rest them on the desk while typing.
Feel the raised bumps under each index finger. Every finger returns to its home key after a reach.
Keep your eyes on the screen. Accuracy first — speed follows on its own.
Start with the home-row lessons and aim for clean, steady keystrokes before raising your target. When a new row feels comfortable, practise short court-English phrases without looking at the keys. Use the finger guide below to correct a repeated reach rather than typing the same error faster.
After a few modules, take a timed passage and compare your net W.P.M. with the 30 W.P.M. goal. Review the words you missed, then return to the module that trains those letters or punctuation marks. A printed passage also helps you practise moving your eyes between paper and screen during the full ten-minute run. Repeat that cycle as your accuracy improves.
One hue per finger; thumbs share a neutral slate. Chosen away from the app’s navy, blue, mint, amber and rose so a tinted key never reads as a verdict.
